Merge
Entities can be merged. This might be required when two different entity codes refer to the same entity. After a merge operation, any data associated with the primary entity is retained. Any data that is associated with the secondary entity and not with the primary entity is merged with the primary entity’s data.
How to merge two Entities
In this example, there are two entity codes with associated data: ‘AGL’ and ‘AGL2’. It is discovered that these two codes refer to the same entity, and their associated data can be merged.
From the Quintessence Start Menu, click on the ‘Merge’ button:
Enter the primary entity (the entity to retain) and the secondary entity that will be merged with the primary entity (‘AGL’ and ‘AGL2’ respectively). TimeSeries data associated with the entities is displayed.
Click on the ‘Merge’ button in the bottom right hand corner and confirm the merge operation:
To check the results of the merge operation, go to the Entity Browser and enter ‘AGL’ to see the merged results:
